The airport is capable of dealing with many customers at a time and has plenty of facilities that you may require. Currency exchange bureaux, banks, ATMs and cheap car hire in Bangkok Airport, will assist the weary traveller in whatever they need to do.

Eating is an important part of Thai culture and a good variety of foods (both Thai and western) are served. The lowest level features a food court and there are many other bars and restaurants located around the airport. Duty-free shops offer cigarettes and alcohol plus a wide range of goods & souvenirs. These are located beyond the ticket holder security points. The third level is an area for meeting and greeting and contains several bars and waiting areas.

When travelling from Bangkok to elsewhere in Thailand, you can use a train service which serves all of Thailand. Buses are may be slow but always frequent, although some may find these to be uncomfortable. For shorter journeys taxis are well regarded but car rental is often a preferred option.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
