Location information for Cleveland Airport

The Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is the biggest airport in Ohio, situated 14 kilometres from Cleveland central business district. Coming from here, cheap car hire at the Cleveland airport is the best way to get to the business district.

Cleveland is proud to showcase the first innovations that the airport pioneered shortly after its establishment in 1925: airfield lighting, radio control from ground to air from traffic control, and access to a railway station. The airport currently serves 85 destinations through daily nonstop flights to domestic and international zones.

The Cleveland Airport System is composed of the Cleveland Hopkins International and the Cleveland Burke Lakefront airports. The international airport alone handled more than 11 million passengers (a good number using car rental) in each of the years 2007 and 2008. It has three runways and will be adding 76,000 square feet through a redevelopment project.

Continental Airlines uses the Cleveland International Airport as its third largest base, and other carriers such as CommutAir and ExpressJet land and take flight from the airport. The airport is famous for giant paper airplanes hung between Concourses C and D. It also has recently expanded its retail site to an impressive array of world-class shops and restaurants.

The upper level handles ticketing while the lower level houses the baggage claim area. The Transport Security Administration handles baggage checking and passenger screening. Also located in the lower level is the shuttle bus that takes passengers on a 5-minute ride to the cheap car hire facility just outside the Cleveland Airport grounds.
